Met Mr. Tattie Heid and a friend of his along with Willie JJ and several from the WhiskyWhisky Whisky forum for a few drinks at the Bow Bar here in Edinburgh last night. Quite an enjoyable night with quite enjoyable people!
Met jrml (Mark) for a few drinks at the Bow Bar, not really met for the first time as we met last year. but as it was only originally supposedly for a just an half hour or so turned into about a 4 hour marathon! Also met Helen who owns the Bow Bar, she's not a member of the forum but who cares?, What a woman!
Quite an overdue note but I met Wave and Willie JJ at the Bow Bar on the last night of my most recent trip to Scotland last September. Always hard to see a holiday end but sharing a few drams with new friends makes it so much easier. We enjoyed a few drams and pints. Mr.Tattie Heid was there as well. a better and more knowledgeable traveling companion is not to be found.
Met Ganga last night for a bottle killing party. It got kind of blurry at the end so I dont know how many bottles were retired. There were too many bottles on the table. It was great fun. Nice to meet you Richard and thanks for the great whiskies.
Yes, it'll be good to finally meet you, and there will be a couple guys from the LA Whisky Society coming up for the Fest as well. We can always meet for a small pre-fest whisky up at the room prior to getting in line.
Not sure if anyone on this forum lives in upstate New York. I'll be travelling to Scotland soon though, so maybe I can meet people there. Later this year I'm moving to New Mexico and driving cross-country. Lots of opportunities there!
jmrl is an absolutely wonderful person and an excellent purveyor of fine whisky. He has not only got the Edradour Ibisco that I wanted and purchased, he also has provided some exceptional samples to myself and a travelling buddy.
I really can't say enough great things about Royal Mile Whiskies. Attentive and knowledgeable staff who are delighted to see you. A great experience.
