The absurdity is that HERE implies that you get to move all the way up to the light as opposed to staying behind a designated spot/line.

About 25 years ago when I was driving round the coast of Ireland (Larne to Larne), I came across a road sign that said "Slow Ducks".

About 100 yards further on, there was another sign that said "Slower"

It brings a smile whenever I remember it.

No matter which way you look at it is is actually scary that you have to tell people what to do when a traffic light red but yea now that you say it

Wow, with such picteresque surroundings I'd go to the Systembolaget even if I wasn't buying anything. Looks wonderful Swedish Chef - and so does the content on the plate! When can we come visit you?

Mr. F, next weekend is booked, but after that we've got nothing planned 'till my brother's wedding, July 4th. Just let me know a couple weeks before you come so that we can make up the guest bedroom and get some more crayfish (got a real nice piece of moose in the freezer too).

I picked up two of these glasses the other day, at a local charity shop for £2...

It doesn't half make a difference to the whisky, after having been used to a Grants "on the rocks" glass for a few weeks!

You're most welcome, Klas. But there was some nice snow fall in Göteborg yesterday, wasn't it? I was covered in it by the time I got to work. Wish I'd brought the camera, Berzeliegatan looked real nice going home at 23:00. As did the mansions in Lorensbergs villastad.

Yes, we got quite a bit here I heard. I was however in Norway on a buisness trip at that time (last Thursday) and it was gone again by the time I got back....

Yesterday at around 16:00 there was a big boom - not that yours truly heard it - and the fire brigade and the coppers came racing. This must be the most exciting thing to happen here in the boonies since one of the factories blew up.





The creek is teeming with ducks so I thought we have it for dinner.


Coppers never left, still out there this afternoon.

I've been to Geilo at the mountain plateau to visit relatives this weekend. I didn't bring my camera but used my mobile so the quality is poor.

LMAO, MR. F!
There was a fire in one of the plants here which set off a gas canister. As there were several more gas canisters in the building(s) there was an obvious risk that these would go as well. After they had evacuated seven houses the coppers had to keep people out while the fire brigade cooled the other canisters.

During saturdays visit to Systembolaget I mentioned that me and Mrs. Chef is moving house in mid June and was offered two of these excellent boxes for free.




Now I only need six more boxes and all the hooch can be safely moved to our new home. Will revisit on tuesday which, I was told by the manager, is a good day to get some more of them.

Seems appropriate to be posting a pic of where we stayed last week-end with the flying of the Irish & Scottish flags. Owned by the Cooper family (another tentativeowhiskey link ), an Irish Scotch family, who have resided for over 3 centuries in Markree Castle Co Sligo west of Ireland.

Looked out the window at work and noticed - which wasn't very hard - this 85 meter superyacht belonging to Mr Reinhold Würth. It's only a month old and the cost of building was a cool £ 66 000 000,-

Swedish Chef, I have no problem with the Singha Lager, Staropramen, Guinnes and the Newcastle Brown Ale - but what are the other two?

Mr.F, The Samuel Adams Boston lager is a slightly darker ale and fuller in taste than the Nukie B and is to my opinion a most excellent ale (like I've said before on this forum: It's nothing like having sex in a canoe).
The Victoria Bitter - That C57 hates - is according to me, my foster brother and my father-in-law a splendid bitter.

Ps. I still listen to C57 when it comes to whisky, and I'd take his advise on pretty much anything, as would take yours Mr.F

Thanks Chef, I've never had the Victoria Bitter or the Samuel Adams Boston Lager. The latter is available here so I should try it I think

Thanks Carl - after having had the pleasure of your pictures from Åmål I must say the film title must be out of place! It certainly looks like a very charming place.

I'm definately going to order a few bottles. They make good beer/ale in the US and some of my own favourites are Goose Island IPA, Anchor Steam Beer, Anchor Porter, Anchor Christmas, and Snake Dog IPA and Gonzo Imperial Porter from Flying Dog Brewery.

I was at work and heard a thump on the window. Turns out a nuthatch had faceplanted into the pane and stunned itself. When it came to, I went to move it to a hedge with a bit of cardstock and it scampered up my arm, hence this picture!

It flew away about a half hour later no worse for wear other than, I suspect, a large headache!
