Good stuff LSD(your username is even more interesting when abbreviated). Not much of hiker myself these days, but I'd be tempted for a bottle of CI.

New additions to the Lair
Musky was in Winnipeg Friday and picked up a few additions (the 6 on the right). The first six are ones picked up mostly here in Wooden Lake. Now to find somewhere to shelve them!

Closeup of Big Jackfish - small.jpg
Now, this is why people spend thousands of dollars to come up here to go fishing. This picture was taken about 20 minutes by water away from my house. My buddy caught this, posed for two pictures and then gently released it back into the water to make more little fish.

Musky? He caught a large mouth bass, released it and never caught another fish all day!

I'd sooner drink that than whatever a distillery on the banks of the Yarra would produce! :insane:

good call mate!

Here's a pic of Nant Distillery in Tasmania. Actually, I was surprised at how good their whisky was. Still very young, but they've been maturing their first releases in tiny 20L barrels and after even 2 years, they tase very well aged, with absolutely no rough edges at all. and trust me, i'm not exaggerating - most Aussie whisky is gross.

Hey...

A friend of mine is in South Africa and sent me some photos of SM over there...
He told me he could bring me 3 or 4...

There is the list!
Help me choose!

I like more peat/spice/iodine ones... Not sherries...

I would like some notes on Old Pulteney...
Is it really a "salty" one? I was thinking about this one!

Thanks!

DT...

Will the Yamazaki 18 meet those aromas: Peat, salty, iodine, spice?

Thanks

No,
But it's an opportunity to try a Jap malt that you may not be able to in Brazil. It'll be good enough and different enough for you to enjoy.

Trust me :iwbrnt: :D

Ok DT!
But the 18 will be a little expensive since there are 2 or 3 more to choose!
So, 10 or 12?
BTW...
Wich other Islay should I try?
(I already have Laph 10, Laga 16, Caol Ila 12, Ardbeg Uigedail)
Thinking of a Laph CQ!

Is the one over Livet 18 a Octomore?

Thanks

Yama 12
I really like the QC
The one above the 'livet is not an Octomore
Have you tried Glenlivet Nadurra? If not a know that a lot of us here would highly recommend that one.

I finally tried some Nant the other week which my friend picked up from over there... really impressive stuff!

I've heard a handful of distilleries here have released a couple of dodgy casks, although everything I've tried so far from Bakery Hill, Nant, Lark and Angaston have been pretty solid.

Hey all. I'm new to the forum. I'm a photographer from Toronto, Canada. I've recently started a new photo blog to celebrate the world of whisky, food and photography. One of my first blog posts was photos of my Christmas whisky bar.

Lucky man - what did you buy! To be fair to my wife, although she doesn't want my whisky displayed (and she thinks whisky tastes like spew), she has bought me membership to the SMWS and an annual subscription to Whiskymag and she has driven me round Spirit of Speyside and Islay and so on....so I am pretty lucky really.
