Tesco deals

Some good deals on at Tesco right now - picked up a Laphroaig CS for under £25 and a Balvenie Doublewood for about £22.

Also on offer (mostly £5 off I think) are Clynelish, Talisker, Macallan, Aberlour and a number of others.

Yes, Tesco deals are currently helping me build up my collection with £5 off many of their malt lines. I think they might have so much on offer just now as fathers day is this coming weekend.

Tesco and Asda seem to be in a price war just now and are continually cutting each others throats to promise consumers they are cheaper. The consumer wins but I fear they must be squeezing some distillers.

Does anyone know if the Supermarket deals on just now are in any way connected to the impending customs labelling being made law later this year ie tring to sell off old stocks rather than have their bottlers re-label with a new 'duty paid label'? (See UK Customs & Excise Ad on homepage)

Picked up an Aberlour A'Bunadh (Batch 16) for £25...

Got a jura 10 for £16.99 and Talisker 10 for £19.99 in Asda last weekend.

That shouldn't be the case as the distiller will sell the goods to the supermarket, making their own profit. Then the supermarket will sell the items at less RRP and eating into their own profits, Still, more whisky for less money does me just fine!
