This is a current Ebay auction

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %26fvi%3D1

Has anyone ever heard of this?
I certainly haven't!

This seller has previously offered some very 'unique' variations on themes which I was very wary of.

What on earth. Is he serious? That's just a blue label he's clearly affixed to the neck of the bottle, correct?

With a crayon i'm sure I could make myself a Very Old Young Lord of the Oggle Isles?

Baffling.

Parvus,
some of his previous attempts enjoyed much greater artistic licence.

Hi there,

in German whisky forums it is thought to be a fake.

The seller says he finished it himself in the Q/A. I'm not so sure it is legal to sell it as Ardbeg then..

I'm sure he could of put anything in the bottle if that's the case???? Very very suspect. Anybody going to report this to Ardbeg and Ebay?

At the end of the day whether the seller is genuine or not he is basically cheating by doing something like this and could very easily (if done on a large scale) afect Ardbegs reputation.

Ardbeg mushroom?

Postby Muskrat Portage » Fri Jun 30, 2006 7:21 pm

Yeah, Portobello is a mushroom, last time I checked. What's next Shikitaki Yoishi? I would tend to draw my own conclusions simply from the photos... wonder how long before EBay pulls it due to the whisky reference in his descriptors? Muskrat Port (obello?) age.

Portobello is also an Area name in London and Dublin so it would not surprise if that's where he got it from or similar. Just don't think anybody would name a finish after a mushroom ... just a bit too wierd

C-I,
I saw that Caol Ila too. But I believe there were some others in HIS "Series" too.
