Need help fast...

...I'm a newbie, just registered.

My manager is flying into Heathrow, leaving tomorrow (7/20) and has graciously offered to buy me a bottle of scotch from the Duty-Free in Heathrow. Now, I haven't flown through there in ages, so I don't know what's available.

I have a collection of about 40 or so single malts, and about 20-30 others (blends, Irish, Rye, Bourbon, etc.). My favorites right now in my collection are the Auchentoshin 10yo, the Macallan 18yo, the Glenfiddich Solera Reserve, the Glenmorangie Port Wood and the Clyenish 14yo. Most likely she won't spring for anything overly expensive, so I'm thinking of what's available under $100USD. (I wish the World of Whiskies shop was online, but I guess they really don't need to be.) Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

There is a very nice bottle of 35yr old Highland Park there unfortunatly it is 129 pounds. There is also a 1977 bottle for 99 pounds they were special bottlings done by the distillery for the store. The Caol Ila double matured distillers edition is also available there. It's a very good dram.

Or you can have your manager call you when she's in the store and tell you what she sees, or have her ask the staff things you're looking for. I usually do it that way, get on the phone with the shopper, or better yet, have her pass the phone to the staff; it works for me!

For this price you should find a good bottle of Ardbeg or ,if you look for something not-peaty, a decent Glenrothes...

A litre bottle of Macallan Cask strength is hard to beat at about £30.

If she comes across it I'd go far Jameson Gold. Should be reasonably priced, and only available at duty-free!
