Suntory Royal in a Violin Bottle

Postby pooley91 » Tue Aug 08, 2006 11:38 pm

Hello,

I did some work for a friend and he gave me a bottle of Suntory Royal Whisky.

It comes in a cardboard presentation box and inside is a 700ml Violin-shaped bottle of Suntory Royal Whisky.

My questions are:

1) Is the whisky actually any good ?

2) Is it a "special edition" bottle and if so how much is it worth ?

Only asking because I wouldn't have accepted it if it is worth a lot.

Cheers

I haven't tried Suntory Royal so I can't speak to its quality. I did see the 700ml violin bottle selling for U.S. $24.99, so it's a nice gift but not over the top as far as cost.

Have you popped it open yet? What did you think?

Cheers,

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't popped it open yet as I didn't want to open it if it was going to be worth anything.

There's a label inside the box that says it is a special edition to mark the opening of Suntory Hall (1986) if that makes a difference.

If it's not worth anything, then I guess I'll just enjoy drinking it and I'll let you know what I think.

Cheers
