Ha ha! You all have to check this out! Item #160056338281! Sorry if you're the current highest bidder, and I blow it for you, but it's a lesson to learn: read the "fine print." Of course it's "fine print," cause it's on a mini bottle, a 5cl!!! Ha ha ha ha ha! Better yet, buy it as package deal, The Peat Pack, 4 minis including this one, for about 20£. Ha ha, so sorry, but goodness, open your eyes. I wonder when they'll figure it out, and how hight the "winner" is willing to go?? Amazing

Its at £60.46 this morning. Reminds of a couple of years ago someone was selling snow on ebay. By the time it was delivered obviously it was no longer snow. I agree its hilarious, the truth is in the saying buyer beware.

its not a case of buyer beware as the seller is doing nothing wrong, its a cas eof buyer dont be stupid and read the auction....

I think Les here means "buyer beware" as in don't be stupid! Read it well and figure out what it is exactly you're buying. More power to the seller, for selling something honestly, not hiding anything, and making so much money!!! Ha ha ha I'm still laughing.

The 5cl is very clearly there, so unless the seller didn't note that, he can't be blamed. Ha ha ha, sad, but I'm still laughing at those poor bidders who'll learn a lesson the hard way! Off to check it and see what it's going for now...

Amazing. The 5 cl. statement is quite prominent, so no deception there. The description is in German, which I don't read, so I can't comment on that. However, all of the bidders' identities in the bidding history are (is?) private. That seems dubious, or is it common on ebay? Is this one person trying to artificially up the price on his product or are several people not understanding what they're bidding on?

Did you see the prices that the minis went for a few weeks ago? One mini of 1930's Laprhoraig went for EUR 1.329,17 and another mini of similar vintage from Glenfiddich went for EUR 2.135,03.

These buyers are crazy, it does look like a normal size bottle, they're going to be really surprised when that little box shows up.....

Thats amazing for a mini, that would value a 70cl bottle at around £950 at the last price i saw it at, and it has not finished yet.

Do you think its that price because its great whisky, or because its Ardbeg.

Hmmmm - Private bids - I always suspect a little shilling with these and would not personally bid.

To be fair, the first line of description does (in bold) state 5cl, but there again, the seller has not gone out of his way to help matters. Especially as he has omitted the bottle neck and top from the picture - a sure give-away as to normal or mini.

I wonder if he'll get a negative here from a rather confused buyer?

myself, i never bid on a private auction due to bid shilling, however, with the new rules ebay have put in that when an item goes over a certain price, only the highest bidder and the seller get to see their own ids, then the problem is only going to get bigger as all other bidders and watchers see is bidder 1, bidder 2, bidder 3 etc etc.

If you look at the questions asked down at the bottom, you'll see that someone actually asks, "Is it a 50cl bottle?" The seller replies, "Yes, that's correct."

I see that the seller still has a 100% positive feedback record, so it seems he hasn't duped anyone in the past!

Well, I guess buyer and seller are happy then. Maybe I should do the same with my mini '81 Kildalton?
