Taste and colour actually reminiscent of Ardbeg 10...so tried the 2 back to back. Definite differences then became apparent. The Ardbeg "arrival" is kinda incomparable, harder(in a good way)and the finish slightly sweeter.
But hey. That's a pretty good comparison/recommendation. And Waitrose don't charge a hill o' beans for it. I think I saw it at £19 recently...
I gather it's a blend of Caol Ila and Ardmore.

Personally whilst I like the Peat Monster, it's a good drinkable whisky, to me it's a misnomer, and perhaps Peat Teddy would have been a more apt name.
