11 I took my wife with me last month for a Greece vacation, took her to the Aegean Sea, to my favourite place Rhodes, an island that in the ancient world was seen as the island of the sun God Helios, who crossed the firmament with his team every day. The bronze statue ´´ Colossus of Rhodes ´´, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world. Today this Greek Island with its 2000 years history is a fascinating mix of beaches, nature and testimonials. After my solocigar habano, some lovely Greek Salad with this excellent feta cheese, and two Ouzo glasses, first morning in the place, we left the Hotel and went for a walk through the old town of Rhodes, is at the same time a ramble through the thousands of years of history of the city from the Archaeological Museum with its ancient statues, graves and ceramics. Not far away we found modern boutiques, bars and cafes which invite us to pass away the time and take a stroll.
The formidable city walls from the 15th Century are wonderful; you can walk as we did it, along part of them to enjoy a wonderful view of the old town. The Turkish quarter with its oriental mosques, is also worth seeing.
