Favorite OB Laphroaig

Just curious as to what is your favorite OB Lahproaig. I have not had the 25 year, the new 18, or the 30, but I am sure many of you have so I included them.

Yeah I did not say but the QC is mine as well, although it is really close with the CS. For bang for the buck, it's hard to beat the standard 10 at $40...but the QC is a noticeable upgrade over the standard 10. I think, in general, Laphroaig is an underrated whisky.

Like others, I haven't tried the older incarnations of Laphroaig as yet.
Amongst the younger ones, however, my vote goes to the Cask Strength...

It's just so 'Laphroaig'!

P.S. I find the Quarter Cask very tasty as well, though the oak influence also seems to 'hide' the intrinsic characteristics of the distillate a tad - hence a nod to the CS.

Do you mean the older version of the 25 with 40% or the new CS version?
I think my favourite expression is the new 25 but it's quite expensive so if you're asking for the best price-quality ratio I would probably vote for the 10 y.o. CS.

I haven't had either of the 25s nor the 18. My favorite is the 15 as their is so much more there than the younger versions but still packs a better punch than the 30.

It should also be noted that there are two different 10 cask strengths. These can be noted as green stripe (older) and red stripe (more current). If recollection serves, these two are at slightly different percentages-hazy but 55.4 v 54.7.

I would say that Laphroaig is somewhat underrated but it has its own legions. It seems that the women I know that imbibe love Laphroaig and it is usually their favorite.

My two favorite Laphroaigs are not OBs. There is the Caledonian Selection 20 and the OMC 18 PLOWED bottling. Excellent whiskies both.

I totally agree with you: I neither have had the 18 or the 25, but I have had a lot of the former regular bottlings (QC, 10, 10CS, 15 and 30) and I think that the 15 is my favourite as well (though i do love them all!). Awesome whisky for a very reasonable price and it will be sorely missed.

Only had the 10, 15 and quarter cask. Out of these three, I would give a slight nod to the quarter cask over the 15. All are great though, it really depends on your mood.

I've loved all the Laphs I've had so far

Absolutely adore the QC but 15 for me as it really feels special in an affordable sort of way.

Not had the18 or 25 yet.

The 15 for me. Though the QC and the 10y are very nice too. Didn't taste the 18 or 25 yet.

The QC is one of the better Laproaig's I've tasted but my honors still go to the 10yo Cask Strength and it's peat tsunami finish. Highly exhilarating!

I voted for the 30 year, but I have a hard time comparing it directly to the non-sherried Laphroaigs.

Of the younger, standard bottlings, I think the 15 year just edges out the QC and 10 CS for me. I just tried the 10 CS Batch 1, though, and it's very good. All three of these are very close.

I'm looking forward to trying the 18.

I've had the 10, 15 and QC. While I keep bottles of both the 10 and the QC, the QC takes the edge in this contest. I love the peaty-sweet balance and the fact that even with the sweeter flavors thrown in, it still tastes so distinctively of the maritime Laphroaig character.

I've had the 10yo, 10yo CS, 15yo and the 30yo. I still like the 10yo CS the best and the 'regular' 10yo the least. I must admit I was somewhat disapointed about the 30yo. I've read some great reviews but it did not live up to my expectations.

I love the CS when I have it. love the QC...and then once in a while i'm staggered by the simplicity and familiarity of the standard 10. Brings back memories too, being one of my first whisky experiences. the 18 sounds interesting...yet to happen upon it!

For me it's the 15 yo. I've had the 10 yo, the 10 yo cs and the qc and they were all very nice, but the 15 yo is the one
