Jack Daniels and Coke, not a bad proposition indeed...
Remember the Vanilla Coke? I use to like that cola. I rarely drink whisky with anything else, not even water, like most all of you. But when it does happen, I don't dislike mixing it with Crown Royal and lots of ice -in summer, for instance. It's a rye and therefore has a bit more of a cereal taste, and is perfumed with other alcohol, I think. In any case, it has a toasty, vanilla taste that doesn't mix too badly with Coke. Worst comes worst, of course...
Yet answering this, like someone else suggested, I feel kind of a victim of a joke... Am I?

Why spoil even a marginally good whisky with coke? Any middle of the road bourbon or Canadian will suffice. "Bourbon and coke" makes a favorite drink for (American) football Saturdays in the Southern US. Our bourbon of choice is usually Jim Beam. We have even branched out into the cherry version of Beam for another Southern taste from soda fountain days, Cherry (bourbon and) coke. Leave the good whiskys to be enjoyed on their own merits!
