Well Let's get this place back on track with a Lagavulin civil war! For your voting pleasure may I present Lagavuiln 16 vs Lagavulin 12 yr CS. Do you like the smooth velvet jacket of the older or the raw mowhawk sheared, tattoo sportin' younger cask strength?

At its best, the 16 Year Old walks away with the Gold as far as I'm concerned. But don't get me wrong. I LOVE the 12 Year Old, too!

I love them both but my vote went for the 12, I'm not in the position where only just one can live in my cupboard

Now that a few vostes have been cast I will vote as well. I votes for the 12yr CS. I find the Cask Strength goes really well with peat and the 16 seems muted in comparison.

Exactly!!! And for me they MUST be young, at 10/12 yo they release the best of their pure peat flavours, seaweed and saltiness...So Laga12 deliciuos

I don't think there's any doubt that the 21yo is the best OB, but its unattainable for most (except Jazz Lover ) these days.

I noticed that JM changed his rating of the 21yo from 80 to 96 (or thereabouts) in this years bible. About time.

Funny, I wasn't overly impressed with the first 21yo I had a couple of years ago. However, the more recent bottlings seem to be better. Was there only the one run? My changing tastes?
