I tend to blow a bit hot and cold with Connemara. I'm enjoying Glentauchers quite a lot these days though.

I've enjoyed Connemara in the past but isn't one that I reach for in the store. I really like Glentauchers but can hardly find it here.

Hmm, ok I'll try to assemble some samples.

I've just finished packing up some samples to send to Mikey. Need to get to the Post Office now.

Caol Ila 12

Funny that both Lagavulin and Caol Ila are both Diageo-owned Isla malts and I gave Lagavulin my most overrated and Caol Ila as most underrated opinions.

I've always enjoyed the isle of jura malt especially prophecy and superstition for special occasions and the 10 yo or 16 yo for easy drinking there all reasonable prices and good quality really surprised there not mentioned more often

Raffy :
I've tried the latest Ledaig and agree with you on it being a very nice malt. It actually improves the next day, from my perspective. Enjoy the experience of learning about whisky.

Underrated because of the low cost, always available, known and drank by almost everybody. The Glenlivet 12 year old needs mention, it just a good dram. I also agree with others that a good malted blend often gets overlooked. One of my favorite blends was/is ??? Johnny Walker Green Label.

I support many of these suggestions. If I haven't said so before, Tomatin 12.

I also look at QPR - quality to price ratio. I understand that this is constantly changing as the whisky profile has a tendency to move and also the ever changing market prices. Tomatin, Glenlivet and Glenfiddich have been the most stable in terms of this.
