What color of bottle do you prefer for your whisky?

I'm just wondering what you think about the color of your whisky bottles.
Do you think a colored bottle is bad because it hides the color of the whisky or do you like the suprise effect?

I prefer the clear bottles as I like the visual of the whisky. Now this doesn't mean I avoid those in the other colored bottles or even opaque bottles. Just my preference.

In a perfect world I'd prefer clear glass. In a world where caramel color is added even to quality single malts, I prefer a brown bottle, or maybe a smoky green. If the color is fake I'd rather not see it.

Artificial color doesn't bother me when I'm looking at it - it's like a woman with implants. So long as I cannot detect it on nose and palate (and I have on a few) then it doesn't bother me.

That's kind of a difficult question for me. If I know that it's an unchillfiltered an non coloured whisky I prefer a clear bottle. If that's not the case I prefer the green bottles like Ardbeg and Laphroaig.

Much prefer clear but it does not really bother me to be honest. I drink my whisky out of a mug these days so I don't see it anyway

Definitely prefer a clear bottle in general. However, sometimes the use of green and brown glass can be extremely effective in creating a strong presence and sense of mystery around a product. For example, I'm always blown away by Lagavulin - an outstanding looking package and quite dominant on shelf. Quite dominant on the tongue too, come to think of it...

When you drink your whisky through a straw, or via a hipflask whilst out for a drive, it makes no difference as to the colour of the glass. Unfortunately, clear is more depressing when they are empty!

I like to believe that the colored glass, especially the dark browns protects my whisky from light a little better than clear. Then again, they all live inside of their containers anyways, so its not a true factor.... Just my 2 cents.

All that matters (about color) is what it looks like in the glass. A clear bottle and attractive whisky in the store isn't going to entice me into buying it. I've had enough whiskies that didn't taste as good as they looked, that color matters little. It looks different in the glass than the bottle anyway.

I don't actually care that much, but I like Ardbeg's green bottles, green fits with their label very well imo.

I'm your overly truthful type of guy, some would say "blunt" at times. I like transparency. I'm sensible to the argument that a tainted bottle could protect the whisky from the light but most comes in boxes... So I would definitely say clear, as a bottle preference. This being said, I wander if it wouldn't make a better reason still to caramel color the whisky even more than it already is for the distilleries.
So I don't know. I'd personally prefer no coloring and clear, transparent glass bottles.
