Should Whisky Magazine commission a cartoonist?

Postby maltnutter » Tue Jun 29, 2004 6:13 pm

Surely with all these great stories (Cardow/hu, Fake whisky) a good satirical cartoonest would have a field day - they'd be collectors items!

Certainly a good idea!

Witty cartoons add a memorable type of class, and are the kind of thing that get passed around and noticed. The New Yorker is justifiably famous for its cartoons. I think Whisky could only benefit from the addition.

Definitely a great idea! And the cartoons can be printed large and sold, framed or not, on the web-site and at WM Live.

There is definitely a humorous side to the whisky industry that doesn't get exploited too often.

Agreed Admiral

We know that whisky is not just about tweed, haggis, thistles and tartan but so many others haven't appreciated the social, fun side of the drink yet.

If we want to appeal to those outside the traditional market we need to broaden the appeal in more ways that one.

Cartoons, even at the expense of the industry itself, are one way to show whisky doesn't take itself too seriously any more.

If it ever did?!
