Two months back I would have voted Glenfarclas in a heartbeat. But after Lawrence and his crew introduced me to the Aberlour in Victoria, I have switched my allegiance. The a'bunadh Batch 14 is very special.

Oooo tricky one for me between the Aberlour and the Macallan ....

The Macallan .... just. I've drunk about 4 litres of the stuff over the last couple of years.

I voted .......aaaaberlour a'bunadh batch 14 however tha Glenfarclas 105 is also very good.

I've got to vote for Glenfarclas as I've not tried batch 14 (yet) and, for me, Macallan does not get a look in.

A year or two ago I'd have voted Macallan, but the Glenfarclas 105 has come ahead in leaps and bounds.

A'bunadh is probably better than both, but I don't think it's as good as it was when Batch #6 first came out.

I remember the macallan CS being an absolute belter around 7 years ago but since it is no longer freely available around this neck of the woods i would have to vote for the Aberlour.

Also consider the Glenfarclas Quarter Cask - after is has been opened for 3-4 weeks.
Then the Bruichladdich 1986 (Dark) Sherried expressions are also excellent.

The Aberlour a'bunadh is a super sherry monster and that is what I plumbed for. But as M-T says the Glenfarclas QC is not bad either for your sherry notes.

Another consideration is a Redbreast 15yo pure pot still, just magic
or even a Jameson 12yo which has loads of sherry too... as alternatives well worth a look.

Interesting pole

This is a close race for me. I would be leaning to the Mac (I am a Macallan collector), but the Aberlour is a good beverage. But, I when you throw the 105 in there, man it becomes a hard one to call.

Have to try them again before I vote......

Even though the 105 is a class act, the A'Bunadh is one fine dram. Sherry monster all the way.

However, I had a single cask Aberlour 13 years old a few days. Bottled straight at the distillery, and only for sale AT the distillerey. You actually bottle it yourself. IMO, even better then the A'Bunadh. The single cask was about 56% full.

Out of these three I'd go for the a'Bunadh. But I'd rather opt for a Longmorn 25yo from G&MP or an old sherry cask Glenrothes.
