whiskey drinker's age

22 here, chinese male. i started with cognac from my dad stash and began a little collection of my own.

i discovered single malt after a year of cognac and fell in love. glad to have tasted some of the 'bang for buck single malts' such as aberlour 10, macallan 12/18, highland park 12/18, balvenie 12 dw, talisker 10, laphroaig 10.

today i have in possesion, macallan 12 fine oak, macallan 12 elegancia, balvenie 12 dw (pretty new dram), highland park 12 (pretty new too) and just hours ago, a bottle of glenfiddich 12 sr (from the changi airport duty free, they have really limited selection of single malts).

my next purchase would probably be a laphroaig 10, talisker 10 and ardbeg uigedail. i'll also get hold of some more proper dramming glasses to share the joy!

Just to add some more balance to the older ones, 49 here. Dont feel much different from when I was 18. Only I have a nap every afternoon now keeps me young.

A nap every afternoon sure sounds nice, My plane got in last night at 11pm and I had a 3 hour drive after that, Then I got up at 6:30am. Boy work can be painful!

When your self employed you can control your hours. However I am working until 11pm to midnight most days at the moment and starting again at 7.30 am. Busy time of year.

At least when you are self employed you get to reap all the benifits of your hard work. Defintly some satisfaction there.

Yes, but the boss always frowns on it. Normally you don't care too much what the boss frowns on, but when you are yourself the boss....

I only wish to make the point that most people I know who work for themselves work very hard and have less free time than those of us who work for others. They are more keenly aware that work missed is money lost.
