I just got Jim Murray's 2006 Whisky bible and tend to agree with his opinions! He rated George T Stagg as the best whiskey in the world, so who can argue with that?

I think whisky journalists serve a great purpose in the promotion of whisky as a whole but to be honest I much prefer disagreeing with people... in general.

I suppose of the three guys in the Poll I like the variation in preference that they offer.

As I write this I just noticed whisky is underlined as mis-spelled according to the forum spell bot (fix it! )
:P

I met a guy called John Lamond a few years back in my last job and I'm pretty sure he's the most non-poetic whisky writer I know. He's born and bred in Perthshire and had a pretty good book (although I've got an old edition) which is very easy reading and good non ridiculous tasting notes - 'the malt whisky file'.

I like reading the crazy stuff from time to time but more often than not I just want to figure out that taste that I can't put the button on!

I have never tasted strawberry kirch in a whisky!!!
