I think whisky journalists serve a great purpose in the promotion of whisky as a whole but to be honest I much prefer disagreeing with people... in general.
I suppose of the three guys in the Poll I like the variation in preference that they offer.
As I write this I just noticed whisky is underlined as mis-spelled according to the forum spell bot (fix it! )
I met a guy called John Lamond a few years back in my last job and I'm pretty sure he's the most non-poetic whisky writer I know. He's born and bred in Perthshire and had a pretty good book (although I've got an old edition) which is very easy reading and good non ridiculous tasting notes - 'the malt whisky file'.
I like reading the crazy stuff from time to time but more often than not I just want to figure out that taste that I can't put the button on!
I have never tasted strawberry kirch in a whisky!!!
