I went with the Ardbeg but the Laphroaig is a very close second because of the price. The Lagavulin only lost because it is acually quite expensive here.

I've never had the Laga (unavailable in California?), but the Laphroaig slightly edges the Uigeadail for me.

I went for the Laphroiag cs. Depending on the way the wind blows you can still taste this whisky later in the day. mmmmmmmmmmmm.

I went for the Lagavulin. It's twice the price of the Laphroaig but it's pretty damned good :)

A real close one!

#1 Laphroiag 10yo CS
#2 Lagavulin 12yo CS
#3 Caol Ila CS (not on the list but should be!)

Cheers!

I voted Ardbeg on this one. I would have had more trouble deciding if PC5 had been in the options.

REALLY hard call.

They are all so great . . . but the Laphroaig has just enough of that certain special something that does it for me.

Laphroaig 10yo cs by a nose
Ardbeg Uigeadail and Lagavulin 12yo cs tie for second

Laphroaig because it's the most affordable of the three - and the best imho :P

But the missing Caol Ila and Bowmore are quite affordable too

This one is real close for me since all three of them are in my top 5 current whiskies.

If I can play around with some bottling dates the ranking would be:
Ardbeg Uigeadail (2004)
Lagavulin 12yo (2003 or 2004)
Laphroaig 10yo CS (57.3%)

The latest bottles of each have lost something in my opinion with the Laphroaig CS (55.7%) losing the least amount of ground. So if I must buy 2005/2006 bottles then:
Laphroaig 10yo CS
Arbeg Uigeadail or Lagavulin 12yo (not had the 2006) [too close to call].

Since they are so close, price becomes the determining factor (although my mood would be the determining factor in the store) and so I vote Laphroaig.

had to think twice about this one as the Laga 12 is a cracking dram (a lot better than the 16yo....) , the Laph is a disappointment so went for the Oogie after all which of the others has a song wrote about it !
