The more that I get into the PLOWED ways (trying many samples of many beverages instread of drinking a lot of one beverage) I have grown my collection of open beverages.

I am in the high 50's opened right now, but I can't change my vote.

Now.... laddie teun - nice, just REALLY nice. I live in earthquake country like a couple of my California friends here and we can't really make a display like that. At least without a big rail in front of all the bottles for protection (which would then kill the display).

Man, like everyone else here has said, that is an amazing collection! And, hands down, a true whisky lover's collection - a huge number of bottles open! I have a few friends with massive collections in the several hundred bottles and up range, but I don't think I know anyone with that many open bottles, all available and all on display. One or two might be around 100 or 150 open bottles, but 300+??? - awesome!

In addition, you have a great collection as well - some fantastic bottles there! You make me want to open some more of my bottles, but at over 50 open bottles right now, I'm still a little shy! Plus, I actually don't drink that much whisky - getting through 50 bottles would take me a easily several years. 300+ open bottles would be a lifetime of drinking. Just a second, I totally understand what you're doing now . Brilliant (live life to the fullest) and congratulations on the courage to do that! I think I'm going to go open a Brora 30 now just to celebrate your ideology!

I've found that there haven't been too many Anejos that haven't been good to excellent, but the Cuervo Platino, Don Julio Blanco, and Cabo Wabo Repasado have all been very tasty too.

I sampled RB15 this weekend courtesy of a Forum member. Superb!
Unfortunately it looks like I'll never be able to get one now as I don't speck Ducth or German and the only suppliers I can find are in those languages.

Thanks! It's definitely not a huge collection, but considering that I live in BC (i.e. liquor wasteland, especially concerning tequila), I've managed to truck back some mighty tasty bottles (and one or two duds :p).

My tequila preferences are definitely for Anejos (as you can obviously see!) and some blancos, though I'm pretty particular with which blancos I like and don't like. I'm generally not really into Reposados much at all, though the Casa Noble repo is an exception, probably because it's fairly "woody" for a reposado (I'd say it's similar to a lot of the younger anejos on the market).

My favourite bottles are:

San Matias Gran Reserva for day to day anejo drinking. It's a bit hard to find, but it's a phenomenal anejo and very reasonably priced considering how good it is.

For premium anejos, the 1942 is a staple for sure, but the Rey Sol is a nice treat once in a while! The Casta Weber Azul is the prize in my tiny tequila collection: it's my only unopened bottle and one that will stay that way for quite a while I suspect (until the right group of people come together

For reposados, the Casa Noble is my current favourite and the only reposado that I would routinely buy. I LOVE El Tesoro tequila (the blanco is one of my favourites, and my definite favourite for mixed drinks and both the anejo and the Paradiso are awesome), but the reposado is the one of their four standard bottles that i don't absolutely love, hence why I don't own it any more.

For Blancos, like I said, I really like the El Tesoro. The Casa Noble Blanco is quite nice, but I think that the El Tesoro is better. Also Asombroso blanco is really, really good, but not particularly cheap.
