This is what I did when I realized I'd gotten carried away. I decided on what I thought was a more appropriate number and would finish two to every new one opened until I whittled down. I still have five or six to go before I hit my target. It's actually been fairly easy of late because I've been buying more expensive bottles.

You'll have to work hard to have less open than me Nick. I'm down to 2 now.

Its a bit of a strange feeling. :?

I can't say that it is really making me think of going to the sample crates yet. I just keep thinking about what bottles I could open. Anyway it can't last. I have to host a couple of tastings in the near future so I guess that'll mean opening around 16 bottles.

I've got 18 bottles open right now, which makes a little less than 50 % of my collection.

85 open full size bottles of whisky.

Please don't tell the wife.

Yeah Sean but then when she eventually complains about the number of open bottles you'll have to put in a lot of work clearing them out. :)

Nice Willie. Up to 90 bottles now. I will not open another bottle till I finish 2 bottles. Well that is what I am saying for now.

Ok, I lied finished one and opened 3  . Up to 100 bottles total. 92 open and 8 closed. :o

You guys are crazy with your huge amount of open bottles!!
I've been very stingy lately with opening new things and I've been on a mission to get rid of some old stock and bottles that are very low. I have managed to polish off 27 open bottles in the past few months (while only opening up a couple) bringing my open bottle count down to just 21.

I'm still around the 60 open mark. It will probably go up again soon. I'm planning another tasting.

It'll take you longer than that to hide 90+ open bottles Sean :D

I only need to hide the really nice bottles. They can have free reign of the Speyside 12 and Littlemill 8. :P

Gee I'm over 50 at 55... oh you don't mean age?

Still holding firm at 61 open. My buddy, the LC manager, figures I should sample all of them like he has. But then I'd have to put them all out on the shelf with the other "opens" rather than squirreling them away in my "tickle trunk". Unfortunately the trunk only has room for one more unopened bottle. I need another trunk.
