Wow Nick, I'm honored you thought about opening one yesterday.

I am now at 47 open. Never thought I'd be at this point.

That's both quite awesome and a little frightening.

I can't pin down exactly how many I 'have on the go' at this very moment, but I'm certain it's well over 60. This was definitely not my intention. But it seems lately that next to every bottle I purchase has its top popped in no time flat. Impatience can have its rewards, I suppose.

94 open, I have explained to MrsT that this actually reduces my alcohol consumption because the wider the choice there is the longer it takes me to select my next dram thereby shortening the time I am actually drinking :)

Very briefly got to 102 and now back down to 101. I really suck at finishing off bottles, though I do excel at opening them.

Nick, time does not permit me to hang out here as much as i used to, but hope you and Dawn and the little one are well.

BTW I must recommend "Whisky Lounge" in all its guises. Most friendly! Next event is an Arran tasting in St. James SW1 on Tuesday

I'm going to add The Nikka from the barrel to the list which makes it 48 open and 20 closed.

(I don't usually add the blends or bourbons - If I did it would be 50 open and 21 closed.)

What do you think, should I add the blends?

Why not? If you can actually pick Nikka from the Barrel as a blend from tasting it let me know, you'd be the first.

I know - Nick sent me a sample prior to this purchase and it was marvellous. I would never have believed that it was a blend if I hadn't already known.

I have to say that it has changed my opinion of blended whisky totally, (being a teenager of the 70's); and if other blenders follow suit with such fantastic expressions, then bring them on.
