Less sweet than others and made from 12yo Scotch with a hint of tangerine and chocolate-orange. Makes the best rusty nails ever! Thats what Richard says.
Lugarteniente: I've gone with Drambuie, not really too keen on Glayva which I found rather cloying. Mind you, I have bottles of each in my Lair! I've not had the opportunity to taste the other three although the Compass Box Orangerie does appeal to me. Let us know what you finally decide on and provide tasting notes, please.
We had the opportunity to visit the Loch Fyne store last week and tried thier liqueur (along with many other fine single malts!!) - I am not a fan of sweet drinks.....but this wasn't bad for a liqueur!!.
I prefer Drambuie out of those listed....I don't like Lochan Ora......we have a bottle less two ounces that will sit there waiting for a visitor to drink it!
Orangerie, like other Compass Box products, is simply different class - spicey and more citrussy orange. Much less sickly sweet and cloying than others.
If you have a Marks and Spencer anywhere nearby their own brand is not too bad at all, again less cloying than some others.
