SMSW is best with ...

Postby sparky » Sat Mar 08, 2008 9:57 am

There's nothing like relaxing with a fine SMSW after a long day or week of work. It goes great with a book or good company, after dinner or before. I draw the line at breakfast, although some may find that the perfect time. What do you do when you are enjoying a SMSW? What is the perfect way to enjoy a Whisky? What moment is best accentuated with a fine dram?

I do really enjoy having whisky with friends. The atmosphere seems to have a positive affect on the whisky experience. Many times I am on WhiskyMag whilst having a dram with friends.

Music also works quite well with whisky. Classical and Led Zeppelin are my favorites with a dram...so far.

OK - I voted "reading", friends, and another whisky!

Probably can throw in a vote for "everything / anything" as well, but that was a little too general for me :) I'm not sure that I'd want to drink Smokehead at someone's cremation!

Music, friends, this forum and the occasional tasting note for me.

I also find that a dram works well with crackers and cheese, especially brie, blue stilton or extra mature cheddar.

Friends, reading, sunset, whatever rocks your boat and I would have liked another option : fireplace and purring cats ! :D
I don't mind munchies on the side, like almonds or cheese ...

Lots of different things, especially with good folks, (like we have around here!) and friends, new and/or enthusiastic to whisky!

Apparently I am the only one so far that likes to have a cigar with scotch. Not every time of course. Always goes good with friends or with a magazine if you want some quiet time.

Friends, the forums and most importantly, with the lovely Mrs Musky.

She may not drink SMs but I am always assured of lively and spirited conversation and companionship. She also supports my enjoyment of SM by purchasing me the odd surprise bottle from time to time with the proviso that it not be saved, rather it's to be enjoyed.

Gotta love that girl!

Hello everyone, haven't poked my nose in for some time. Many new faces (names) here. I had to vote for 'a good cigar at sunset'. I have my whisky at many other times but to have a dram with a good cigar while sitting out on the deck at sunset makes a perfect ending for no matter what kind of day I've had. Really looking forward to warmer weather.

Nice to see you back! Take a look around and try to "attend" one of the live tastings that occur here monthly. The guys from California are a pretty neat bunch and they (Ganga & Mikey) are even in your time zone!

I enjoy a SM best with friends or family. I really like to share my whisky experience with other people. That's another reason why I like it here as well!
