How long to finish the Chivas 12?

Ok, I just got the bottle of Chivas 12, 1 liter. Topic of how long the bottle would last came up. Would the bottle make it through October or would it still be around next Labor Day? I've never had it but good whisky tends to not last too long in the house.

So, how long do you think this bottle will last?

Bottle is just opened and the clock is ticking. I will post here when the bottle is .

i put one month..that is how long it would last me......chivas used to be my go to before i found a store that stocked teachers

What did you think of it? I'm sure that will be the greatest influence on the speed at which the level goes down...

Hmm, I think a second course of it is in order to really answer your question. The first dram I really noticed the esters from the grain alcohol (what has in the past turned me off blends). This was trending towards unnoticeable as I got to the second and third drams.

I have posted some thoughts over in the "Drinking Now" thread. I think I can safely advise everyone that it won't take a year to finish the liter.

I read this earlier today and believe it could last no more than 2 weeks at most using 4 drams as yardstick with maybe a couple of nights off.

First weekend, 6 pulls on the bugger. Problem with the two week choice is that MOKtoberfest is this coming weekend. I will be joining several of my fellowed PLOWEDsters for a couple of evenings of dramming. I will still get a few pulls on the Chivas during the week but probably not this weekend.

As dull as Chivas 12yo is, it is easy drinking. Me and a couple of mates demolished a bottle in an evening once (it was a well meant but rather unappreciated gift).

I actually prefer it to a lot of blends becasue it is so unoffensive. Would never ever ever buy a bottle though.

Yeah, sorry. I took a bit of a sabbatical from whisky this summer. I'm back for the nonce but it's pretty busy in the outside world and I've not got the free time I once had. Family and fraternal responsibilities are taking a front seat to dramming.

I suspect that Ganga has finished the bottle already and is not ready to admit it yet. Too bad they don't sell two litre jugs, eh?

I like the Chivas 18 better than the 12. The 18 would go away much faster in this house than would the 12. It's not all that interesting of a blend, and I think that equivalent blends in the range can be had for the same cost or lower, while being of superior quality. I will admit that it's easy drinking though--and yes, there is a bottle here.

Somehow I've come late to this, but even given the evidence above about MOKtoberfest my money is still on the two week option as long as not too many new bottles appear in the mix. Enjoy it anyway.

The Chivas is below the 1/2 way and it's been two weeks so those who picked 1 or 2 as SOL. I suspect you need a month to finish it. So that's what I should've voted for.
