November & December Tastings - clarification

November & December Tastings - clarification

Postby TreacleSponge » Tue Nov 25, 2008 10:53 pm

Some of the recent threads planning tastings are a little misleading as they start off with a date, which then changes, so until you read the entire thread it's a bit confusing. I just want to check I've got the dates and drams right...

Ryguy wrote:Thanks again Matt to you and WM Admins for all of the past samples, along with setting up the threads for us.

Scheduled Tastings so far:

November 29th - Springbank
December 13th - Christmas Drams
December 20th - Lagavulin

These are the dates and whiskies I'm going by - is this up-to-date?

And if it is, what's the plan for Christmas Drams? As the last Christmas discussion got a bit flouncy, is it worth starting a new thread about this so we know if there are any expectations, or if it's more of a bring-what-you-like casual dress kind of do?

TreacleSponge, yes indeed the dates above are up-to-date. When it comes to Christmas Drams, it's safe to say that everyone is bringing an assortment. Some people prefer the heavily sherried drams around Christmas, and others have a different idea when it comes to a Christmas Dram.

This would be a good place to discuss what everyone will be tasting for Christmas, or to make some suggestions to others.

I really hadn't thought about what I'll be dramming myself, I was just going to go along with the group. But it would be nice to have a couple common distilleries amongst the group. :D :D

Really? But I've posted all my cards, wrapped all the presents, watched Its a Wonderful Life, listened to Bing Crosby, and been eating mince pies for a month. I'm kind of Christmassed out already. And now you're telling me there's a whole 2 weeks more to go? :headbang:
