Blended Whisky Tasting

Ok, since there is some interest in trying some blends, I'm going to suggest April as the month. I currently have collected up several samples to try. JWR, JWBk, JWGo, St Andrews, J&B, Dewars 12, Cutty Sark.

Is the first weekend in April good? Any other thoughts for blends.

We could maybe consider some of the other classic blends like White Horse, Vat 69, Dewar's White Label, Dimple (Haig once upon a time), etc., etc.,

Lot's of minis available for blends so no need to swap samples here I think.

Agreed Willie, lots of samples available.

I'd suggest a set of three as our baseline for the group. After that it would be nice to see several other blends. Thoughts on the baseline blends? J&B, JWBl, Dewars 12 or White?

It is highly probable that I will be dramming blends both weekends... :shock:

...as S'tan would like to spend an evening going through blends. Should this happen, I will post out our notes from these as well.

I'm going to suggest we make this a two weekend event.

Ok, I added a few more samples today. Dewar's white, Grants Special Reserve, Famous Grouse 12, Chivas 18. I think this will get me through an afternoon.

Evening however.... :shock:

OK I've started collecting a few samples for this one. So far I have, Dewars 12, Nikka from the Barrel, Teachers. I'll work on getting a few more. :thumbsup:

I now have 8 blends to try, J&B rare, Cutty Sark, Dewars white label, Deward 12yo, Chivas Regal 12yo, JW Red, JW Black and JW Gold.
