Remembral

Hey, I can set it up for a vote with PeatFest as an option or the option can be IslayTime seeing as Talisker seems to be the only outlier at this point. And yes, I think it works best to pick a day/time. It brings people in together to discuss rather than just post notes.

Good idea, let it be part of the vote, IslayTime as you said. That is the fair way to do it, put it to vote and go from there. Also lets include voting on the date as well.

I think if Brora, Benriach and Talisker are all on offer then it would need to be Peatfest. Depends how wide we want to cast the net.

So the question is, do we include Islay whiskies only, or all Peated drams in the poll? What do you all think? :D :D

[quote="Ganga"]I'm suggesting that we do the Lowlands the first weekend of December as the last weekend of November has suddenly become very busy for me. quote]

Closed Lowlanders this weekend. I am bringing Littlemill 8yo OB and a Rosebank Signatory CS.

I don't have any Rosebank or Littlemill around, but I do have a bottle of St. Magdalene 26yo from the SMWS, Cask 49.10 that is open. :D

Talisker
Ardbeg
Laphroaig
Lagavulin
Bowmore
Islay Time
Peat Fest

Ok, I'll set this up in a week or so for a vote. Islay Time will be anything ya got from Islay including unpeated whiskies (ie, CI 8 unpeated). Peat Fest will include peated whiskies from anywhere. Thought I would clarify for everyone.

Any further suggestions?

I don't have any Brora or peated BenRiach open :D

So you were just stirring it up then?

Some reminders about upcoming events. This weekend is the Longmorn Live Tasting. Should be most appropriate seeing as we'll be headed in to Christmas.

Secondly, Third Annual Ring in the New Years will be on December 31/January 1 for those that wish to lift a glass as the New Year unfold around the globe. I will start the thread early so that those in the earliest time zones can start and join in the fray at roughly 11 PM British Standard Time December 31.

Looking forrd to the Longmorn Tasting this weekend Rich , needless to say a few lined up . If the SMWS had been a bit quicker with their Santa offer (£20 off a bottle of £100 or more) i would have had a 38yo to open this weekend , instead i will have to wait till next week.....

Just a reminder to everyone about the Old Pulteney Live Tasting this weekend, Jan 15-17. I have one sample to taste and do notes on, which I'll do either Fri or Sat evening. :smoke:
