February Live Tasting - Preliminary Vote

Postby Ganga » Mon Dec 14, 2009 7:59 pm

It seemed to me participation was much better when people voted on a monthly basis. So I received some suggestions and here we go. This is the preliminary vote. Please vote for two tastings and one date. Top 3 Tastings will be placed in the final vote. The date chosen will be for the event.

I have limited the dates to Saturdays. Start time is scheduled for 7 PM British Standard Time. I also eliminated February 13th.

Some brief explanations:

Peat Fest - any whiskies from anywhere in the world that are peated.

Islay Time - any whiskies from Islay, regardless of peatiness or lack thereof.

Date does not matter to me, but I chose the 6th. I voted for Islay Time and Talisker (this would give me a reason to buy another Tali for the cupboard)! :D :D

Lagavulin and Ardbeg for me. Didn't vote for a date as it doesn't really matter for me.

Me, I went with Laphroaig and Islay Time. Really don't care about the date at this point.

Sometimes you find it in the strangest places. We had a 30yo Brackla last Thursday that was massively peated and a while ago I was also given some 1964 Glen Moray that was the same. I think they must have used whatever malt was delivered in those days, whether it was peated or not.

I like to vote for beverages, whether I drink them or not...

One hour to closing in a very tight race. Any further votes? If not, look for the Final Poll later today.
