Final Poll - Live Tasting May 2010

Postby Ganga » Wed Apr 14, 2010 8:27 pm

Ok, we've selected May 15th as our tasting date for those that can get together and share some thoughts, ask a few questions, and generally have a good time.

However, we need to select a whisky. Please choose one.

I'm extremely limited here either way. I'd like to see Dailuaine or Glen Elgin get chosen so that I can read others thoughts on two whiskies that I have never tried. Sadly I don't have samples or bottles of either. If Glenlivet is chosen I think I can find a couple samples kicking around. I'm not voting.......yet. 8)

Binny's search was broken when I tried it earlier today. Might want to check again over the next 12-24 hours.

Did you vote? What about selecting Glenlivet for May and Glen Elgin for June?

Sounds good Ganga, that's only fair. Lets go with Glenlivet for May 15th and Glen Elgin for June (date tbd).

I floated the idea to Ganga about doing Glenlivet one weekend and the next weekend doing a Glen tasting. If it has Glen in it's name it is fair game. :smoke: Though by the end of it I would be :dead:

Just a thought, though I also like the idea of Glenlivet in May and Glen Elgin in June.

I think we could do a Day in the Glen. Since many will have a Glen something available, it shouldn't be an issue to just pop it up.

Just to be clear, the next Live Tasting will be any "Glen....."? I would have voted for Glen Elgin but I had only seen the Samaroli editions here and couldn't afford them. However, two days ago I found the GE 16yo (58.5%) and might like an excuse to grab it.

I forgot all about the final May poll, but would have voted Glen Elgin so that's what I'll do for the "Glens" night on the 15th since I have more 'Elgin's than 'Livet's.

Cheers!
