Anyone have a favorite distillery or theme they would like to see in September?

I like that idea but I am having a gag reflex remembering some of the nas blends from the last time viewtopic.php?f=21&t=10954&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

:yuk:

Even if it doesn't win the vote maybe we can set up a blend tasting for the end of August?

Ardbeg? Glenfiddich? What about doing a sherry festival?

Just a thought, but why not from one particular Independant Bottler?

OK, how about Signatory for the third Saturday in September?

We'll skip October unless Nick is willing to host as I am busy most weekends in October.

That sounds good to me. I have 4 bottles of Signatory currently open. Bring it on.

Any possibility of a Canadian whisky tasting someday? Give us a home court advantage for once and make the rest of the kids scramble to find something similar?

Yeah, we have a tendancy to doing stuff a bit different here. Sorry C57, didn't realise this had been done before - maybe it could be a yearly thing in November. Y'know the old, we feel sorry for North Americans and so once a year will drink their whisky. We could do a US tasting one week and a Canuckistan one the next. Mexico has awesome Tequila and so we could honour the NAFTA by having one of those the third week.

Something to think about. OOOPS, it's Wednesday, off to SOI.

I agree Nick, I learned that I rather enjoy the Crown Royal Reserve. A very yummy dram. And maybe it will give me the push I need to buy a bottle of Crown Royal Black.

Would blends include blended malts as they supposed to be called these days?

Someone care to set a date in October for Canadian whiskies? Week before Halloween is probably no good as I know several of us will be tied up. Musky? Nick?

Ok, we'll go with the weekend of October 15. Hope to see everyone here.

We're going to do a series of US whiskies for November.

Suggestions for December? Do we want to go monster sherries for the Xmas spirit?
