Just popping in to say Hi - looks like I've missed most of the tasting!
Sadly the only Glenlivet I have to hand is a 12YO which has been open longer than is good for it, so I won't offer any tasting notes, as a lot of the finesse has gone from it. An overstocking of another Glen... (premiumisation resulting in a lot of the old bottles being dumped in supermarkets at rude not to prices), has left me
As others have said at one time I used to dismiss the Glenlivet, another mainstream middle of the road Speysider. But since sitting in a Masterclass, and spending some time in the company of Ian at WL I've learnt to taste it properly, give it longer in the mouth, enjoy it's subtlety and notice it's understated complexity.
Nadurra CS was still my favourite from the Chivas cluster of stands at WL (well of the affordable ones), and it's really good news that there is a strong will for the CS version to appear in the UK.
I hope Ian has some news on that front for next WL
! If nothing else it would be great if he could make sure a few CS bottles were available for RM to sell on the day!
I'm off to enjoy some shut eye now!
