Saturday the 22nd would be best for me since the WoW 2008 tasting is on the 29th.

It's Peckhams 1982 Club thing. It will be in the branch in Glassford Street in Glasgow and it will be a Glenfarclas tasting this time. I am hoping, probably unrealistically, that they might pop one of the Family Casks for us, but I doubt it.

Do you want me to get you a ticket when I pick up mine today? Or you can send an email to them through the Peckhams website.

I can't do Easter at all, so either Friday 28th or Saturday 29th for me. I chose Saturday because it gives those on t'other side of the pond a fairer chance, and the more that can be involved in these live tastings the better.

Just back from Peckhams, picking up my 4 tickets, and got speaking to the guy in there who appeared to be the resident whisky expert. He has spoken to the Glenfarclas rep about this tasting night and he mentioned 'Family Casks' without me saying anything about them. He seems to think there's a pretty good chance there will be one or two samples as well as the range of standard bottlings.

Edit: Oh, I forgot - he mentioned '67/'68, but I'm not too sure if he was told that or that was a guess...

This actually turned out to be the best day for me. The weekend of 3/22 just got all booked up. On 3/29 I will be indulging one of my other passions with a Genesis tribute concert at 8pm EST, but as long as the tasting isn't too late, it should be a go for me. Unfortunately, I have no Balvenie on hand at the moment. I'll have to try to track down one of the 50ml Trios, or maybe get a bottle of the Single Barrel for the occassion.

Where's that from? Is that miniatures? I can only see a pack with the 10, 12, and 15yo ones.

Never drank Balvenie before (except a young vatted one), bur that will change: I have a 12yo doublewood and a 21yo portwood ready for the 29th.

I might open the DW12 friday when I have a tasting session at home...

Suddenly I get the urging drift to buy a 10yo Founders reserve, then if I like it I can stock up a little.

Randall Fairbrook gave me a 3-pack of the 12, 15, 21 from Hi-Time, but I will be at the WoW 2008 on the 29th.

Bill: be certain of your timezones on this as 7PM GMT is only 3 pm in Georgia. Here's the North America time zone map with you at GMT -5 (which is actually -4 as we did a timechange earlier than the rest of the world.)

Maybe you and your tasting chums should bring a laptop and login from your tasting!
