Brand : The Balvenie Expression : Signature 12yo Batch one
Nose : Honey , Spices , a wee bit of orange , touchy Earthy . Palate : A bit flat on the palate , Slight Sherry , dried fruit . Finish : Medium , more dried Xmas cake Fruits than anything else . Comment : Not the usual Speyside Floralness , Nothing to make me run out and buy a bottle though ! Colour : Light Amber Score : 0

Comment : Not a lot of Portwood , was this finished in portwood or fully matured ? Not as good as the 15yo but better than the first two . Colour : Deep Gold Score : 0

Long time since i've had a Balvenie , nice to try them again but nothing here to make me want to revisit them again soon .

On Tuesday night I finally had a wee bit of the Balvenie 12y Doublewood, which I really enjoyed. Lots of vanilla and honey to be enjoyed in that one. And last night, just getting over a cold this week, my tongue and palate was quite sensitive and thus tingled and seemed spiced, but that's just me and my condition. Also, on first nosing of it, I did detect a little plastic, like Bourbon sometimes yields, which dissipated after a few minutes in the glass. Looking forward to tasting the others soon, not totally over this congestion and cold yet though.
