May 2008 Preliminary Poll

Postby Ganga » Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:51 pm

I received quite a few entrants this time. We're going to do a runoff first. Please select 2. This is being set up to end next Thursday so that the final May poll will be running during the tasting.

I voted Ardbeg and Lagavulin cause I've got them open and with my slow pace of drinking these days, very little, I don't want to open anything until I empty many of the open bottles I have.

Lagavulin (jumped at this one, seeing as it's my favourite distillery!) and Edradour for me.

I'm just a whisky fan. I selected Macallan and Glenfarclas as I have some wonderful bottles open (and to open). :smoke:

Voted without reading the instructions so only picked one  . Anyway Mortlach is the obvious choice for me. I would have gone with Edradour for a second, but really don't mind, they are all good IMO.

Tough choice. I chose Ardbeg because i have more Ardbeg than any other type, and Mortlach because i love the stuff .

I chose Macallan and Lagavulin. We'll see where the prelim poll goes, lots of wonderful things to choose from though. I'd better save what Morty is left in the 1 bottle I have, just in case. :D

I voted for Macallan since it's been too long since I've tried one. Also voted for Springbank since I have quite a few open and it'd be fun to hear everyone's take on them.

Ok folks, the preliminary poll is schedule to close Thursday evening. It is my intention to create the final poll on Thursday or Friday night using the top three vote getters here (note: I'm giving the Edradour one extra vote from Willie).

Anyone else?

I'll go for Glenfarclas and Glenmorangie because it's easy to buy a range of small bottles to try instead of buying full bottles.

On the other hand, is anyone interested in putting their money in to buy a range of full bottles and then sharing them out to reduce the cost (and the number of open bottles in the house)?

Can't promise I'll make the tasting night, but I voted anyway.

I went for Ardbeg, simply because I've got quite a few of their bottles. I also picked Glenfarclas 'cause this is one distillery I have enjoyed in the past, but have yet to explore properly.
