Old Pulteney 17 OB, lovely taste but very short on the finish, then again it could be "my palate is jaded" CF "tired and emotional" :)

SMWS 4.120. HP

This is a lovely dram. I cleansed the palate first to try it then had it without any nectar. Nice smokiness and lots of fruit on the nose. Slabs of ham on the grill and the accompanying smoke on the palate.

Definitely don't mix with the Nectar.

Very nice whisky. One of the better Lappys I've tried. Kinda fruity on the nose with smoke. Citrus and smoke on the palate and finish.

With the Nectar it gets even more smokier. If it's your thing, then this is a great combo.

29.64 - sherried frog. Really good dram. Some of the smoke and medicinal nature of Frog is mellowed when drammed with Nectar. Still I'd rather have these separate.

Moving along to the SMWS 33.66 Ardbeg. 9 yo 58%

Classic example of a young Ardie. Wonderful smoke an oiliness.

Sherry and peat are a nice mix on this Laph....

Comes across strong and then finishes so nice.

Thx again Ryan.

I do love the Ardie with the Nectar.

Some of the oiliness and peat have been mellowed but the fruitiness is still there.

Very good but I think the Fiddich still has the edge.

Great drams, Great company last night as always!
Thanks Spirit of Islay/Gordon for making the chat available, and Thanks to Ganga, Mikey and Andyt for taking part. Seems as though I missed Woodhill though. Maybe next time!

Glad you enjoyed the SMWS samples as much as I did! :smoke:
