A suggestion for late September / October

A suggestion for late September / October

Postby Deactivated Member » Tue Aug 12, 2008 8:25 am

Since I posted elsewhere about my new whisky 'Flights' (I hate that term, is it a modern-day equivalent to the 1980's booze cruises  ) I have had a few members enquire about sending some of these out by post.

Of course, this is more than possible, but how about integrating this into a full online tatsing?

I could offer any of the flights, or even come up with a slightly different selection just for WM Fourum-ites.

I may even be able to offer a discount to reduce the price a little and my initial research has shown that postage may be very reasonable.

So, would anyone be interested in a co-ordinated online tasting with a selection from myself?

If we aim towards late September / October time, I may even have the webcam available which means there could also be a possibility of really doing this 'live' either from the pub or from my whisky den at home.

Your comments are most welcome,

I'm definitely interested. It may not always work out but I'll try to support the Arc as much as possible. :D

I'm interested Keith, but that time is starting to look a little crowded if the 'normal' forum tasting happens on the 20th Sept., and the 'other' forum tasting happens on the 3rd or 4th Oct.

Maybe needs to be early Sept., (but I have a tasting in Edinburgh on the 3rd.), or later in Oct.

Cheers

The reason I suggested that time was so that there would be sufficient time for any samples to get to far-away places.

I don't want to push it back too long, but I am open to suggestions for suitable dates.

Let me start the process again, how about a Saturday in mid-September?
Or when in October?

October will be a poor month (oh the puns :headbang: ) for me as I seem to have something booked for every weekend. September 27?

Sept 27th would be ok here as well, I don't know of anything going on then. Any idea on which 'flight' will be tasted first? :D :D

OK, so it looks like Sept. 27th is the date.

This will be a crazy day for me, but I guess by later that evening I'll be ready to sit, relax and enjoy a dram. If I can stay awake.

That is also the AFL Grand Final Day - in the middle of Wies'n (Octoberfest) and one travel company will be bussing a load of sport-hungry drinking Aussies to the pub.
The game starts at around 06:00, so I will be there preparing the 100 or so breakfasts at around 04:00, but unlike last year, I won't be staying until after midnight!

So, I'll start a poll to see what drams we should include.
