November 15 Irish Whiskey Tasting

It looks like I will be taking my samples with me to Austin as I will be there for work on Novermber 15th now. I'll be joining late as we don't arrive until 6pm.

Really looks like everyone has been on the ball for this tasting. I've been informed that the Greenspot is on the way. This should really take care of all the needed Irish whiskies for the US group. I will get samples out to everyone following "the arrival".

I may also be time to start thinking about a special event for the late January-March time frame.

Okay guys some good news and some bad news .....

I'll start with the bad news ....

..... for the life of me I cannot find my SMWS Cooley bottling.

I sold a good few bottles to one person lately so I hope I have not given him a little bonus by mistake in saying that I still have over 200 bottles which are in a total mess and it would not surprise me if it was lurking somewhere.

Anyway for the good news I have substituted it with another peated single cask cooley but to make up for it I have also included a sample of Jameson Signature Reserve (Travel retail Only). So I'll post out later today or in the morning.

I'll probably jump in, schedule permitting. Not 100% certain what's lurking in the cabinet, but I think I have 2 expressions of Jamesons, some Clontarf, one or two Bushmills, and maybe another lying around. Sounds fun!

1900 is a good starting time. I think the more we can be together on this one, the better this tasting will be. I'm sure many of us will have questions for those that drink Irish whiskies on a regular basis.

I asked my daughter to post the samples yesterday but she didn't. They are in the post now. I hope they get there in time.

Still its partly my fault for leaving it so late. I really must get more organised.

A late entry - I should be able to join in on this on Saturday night. I've been drinking Black Bush for years, but now converted to the even better Redbreast (thanks to this very forum and erm..... Waitrose!).

Just wondering can we get an updated tasting list. It seems that Knappogue and Green Spot have made it onto the list among others.
I appreciate there may be a bit of a free-for-all given that different people have different bottles open at home.
I don't do Tyrconnell, so I'll sit that one out, and the only Greenore I have is a sealed 15 yo, but Saturday might be the night to crack it open. The 12 yo Jamesons I have here is the distillery reserve also. I'm no great fan of the standard release.
If people don't object, I'll be looking to taste Bush, Knappogue 94, Redbreast, Green Spot (if I remember to buy another bottle), and maybe the Greenore 15 yo.
I might taste the Bush 16 yo or 10 yo in place of the Tyrconnell, and I'll taste the Distillery reserve Jamesons in place of the standard 12 yo.
Am I missing any on the formal list? Other than Knappogue are we doing any other Independent bottlings? And is the basic Bush really the only Bush we'll be tasting (again apart from the Knappogue)? Late in the day for me to suggest this, but a couple of quid more gets Black Bush which is a much superior dram...
