Good morning, Gordon.

I guess I can pour something now. A little Auchentoshan Select just to get things going.

Mortlach 10yo ( 59.8%, SMWS, Cask #76.50, Sept-1996 )

Glass: SMWS Glass

Nose: The nose is light and sweet with a mix of honey and vanilla.

Palate: Sweet with light fruits, somewhat citrus-like, and some dryness that reminds me of the feeling of a dry white wine.

Finish: Nice sweet and somewhat spicy finish.

A very tasty dram, especially for just a 10yo. This comes from an ex-bourbon cask, and it's just another really great Society choice!!

I do have to say you are lucky that they still nap. Mine I'm sure will interrupt from time to time with the "I'm hungry". Speaking of which....

Added some water

I like this better with the water added.

Mortlach 13yo ( 57.8%, SMWS, Cask #76.37, June-1990 )

Glass: SMWS Glass

Nose: Carmel, some toffee, and a hint of citrus zest.

Palate: Really smooth, huge sherry influence here. Sweet sugars, some bitter chocolate and a hint of wood smoke.

Finish: Long and smooth, some oranges, and a tad bit of rubber tires, but in a very intriguingly tasty way.

This is a great example of another great Society cask. Matured in an European oak, ex sherry cask, this one is great!!

Thanks Nick (C57) for this sample!!
