November 2008 Live Tasting - Preliminary Poll

Postby Ganga » Mon Sep 29, 2008 9:28 pm

I'm not going to wait to get this one going.

Vote for up to 3 (three) for the final poll.

Also, start thinking about dates for both November and December as we must contend with the holidays. Remember, the 15 of November is already taken for the Irish Whiskey Tasting.

My votes are in, but there are lots of good choices this month as far as I'm concerned. When it comes to the date, Saturday's seem to work well. I'm flexible, whatever works for the group works for me.

Tough choice. I've gone for Springbank, Old Pulteney and Rosebank (got to support the banks at the moment).

I predict that Springbank, Bowmore and Glenfarclas will make the final.

My vote for the date for this would be the 29th to allow time for participants to mollify their partners after the Irish tasting. The December tasting could be the 13th which allows another 2 week gap.

Cheers

Funny, I just finished rebuilding a "bank" (levee). Had to listen to Zep too. :P

Me, I went for Glendullan, Glenfarclas, and Scapa.

I voted Springbank, Bowmore, Glenfarclas. No particular preference, I only have 1 bottle total between the 3. I really haven't tried alot from either, so all work for me.

Shame to waste a vote - please could you allocate Spirit of Islay's third vote to Scapa? I am only joking!

Springbank would be nice. Had only one bottle sofar, the regular 10 but I liked it very much.
A few bottles are waiting to be opened: vintage 2007 edition 1 and a 15 yo.

does matt send out samples anymore
(actually curious)

LSD, as far as I know, Matt is no longer involved with Whisky Mag as a moderator or admin. So unfortunately he's not sending out samples anymore.

Let's see what wins, then I'll check what I have available to distribute. :D

Vote cast for the final 3.

Bunny
Rosebank
Springbank

Not an expert on any of them so would relish the opportunity to sample them.
