Ok, ladies and gents it is time to select the distillery for November 2008 as well as the date of the function. Choose one distillery and one date.

Also, with all the holidays do we want a December Live Tasting?

I would vote for a December tasting - Sat 13th Dec. I would like to propose Lagavulin. What a way to end the tasting year! Yum yum.

Maybe I can send you some samples without labels so you can taste blind and see for yourself what a good whisky Springbank is.


Only had the regular 10 sofar and I loved it. It was gone in a few weeks. Normally I put the last 10cl in a sample bottle, this one didn't make it that far.
It is a good idea to add Longrow (and Hazelburn) to the list I don't expect to have seperate tastings for these anyway soon.
Probably I'll open a Vintage 2007 edtion 1, ob 15 and a Longrow CV.

Brora next? Ok, I 'll would like to buy a few. Any suggestions in the 30-50 euro range.

I quite agree Ras, specially since it looks like the 29th is going to end up as the tasting date. I'll be back on the midnight shift on the 27th and I'll have no chance for this tasting.

Seven hours to go and Springbank inches forward.

Since the membership has decided that we will do a monthly tasting in December, I will get the poll up and running for December following the Ardbeg tasting. Why so quickly? Well, we will likely want the tasting around the 13th of December because of all the holiday activity. I have included Glenfarclas into the December vote as it seems it is thought of as a Christmas dram. Should it make a comeback, I will remove it from the choices.

So far I have lined up the following samples...Springer 10yo Batch 1 (Thx to Jobi), Springer 10yo Batch 2 (thx to Nick), and also a Binny's Springer 10yo 1997.

I've got some stuff lined up as well. OMC 10 (can't remember the source), HB 12 for PA-port pipes, and one other that escapes me at the moment.

I may be out of town for personal reasons that weekend but I will post some thoughts when I return.
