Sweetest Whiskey

Ha. I just recently purchased my first whisky, HP 12, and I found it almost too sweet. Still delicious, but I'll look into toning it down for the next one. At least this thread gives me an idea of what to avoid.

Definitely, very enjoyable and goes down scarily easily, as I said in another post, almost not like drinking whisky at all - more of a liqueur I find.

Aberlour a'bunadh is fantastic, got a bottle of batch 25 from waitrose at brent cross. The only bad thing is that it cost rrp at £31, it was at £23 during the Christmas period - tried my best to get it at that price but was sold out everywhere.

My dad got me a bottle of Talisker 10 from the duty free - I liken it to alcoholic cod liver oil . He's in Jordan at the moment and i asked him to get me a bottle of Macallan 12 if he can find it as it is a duty free whiskey. And next on my wish list is Macallan 18.

I think i'll stay away form the islay malts and stick to the spey's at the moment.

Just opened a bottle of Nectar D'or. It is the most honeyed, sweetest whiskey I can remember.

There have been plenty of people that have recommended good scotch ... but if you want something sweet, then you have to go bourbon or maybe coffey grain. Try one of these ...
