Highland park 15 yr

I was in Sainsbury's and noticed this for £30.

Has anyone ever tried it?

I'm a fan of both the 12 and 18 yr old.

I haven't tryed it yet. But Highland does bottle some nice stuff for supermarkets and superstores only from time to time. if you wish I can find out about this for you?

It's a proprietory bottling which I've never seen before.

I have tasted it last year (I have a friend in UK). It's rather "disappointing". HP is always good, but it's not as "fresh" as the 12y, neither as matured as the 18y/21y versions.
Something in the middle noone needs.

I feel the same way about Bowmore 12 yr old as compared to Bowmore Legend and Bowmore 17 yr old.

Hi,

I was at the HP distillery last october. There i was told the 15y old wasn't available in the distillery shop anymore. Sold the last one three weeks before. The last batch of 15 y has been bought by Sainsburry's they told me. It will not be produced again. So if you want to try, buy now. I have tasted it. It's o.k. but not real special. I was told it mostly a mix of 12y and 18y. I definitly prefer the 18y. But if you enjoy the HP buy it, it won't be around that much longer!

Presumably there's no 12 year old in the Highland Park 15 year old... I love the Highland Park 12.

The HP 15 as I understood is just a middle aged whisky. It supposed to bridge the gap between the 12 and the 18Y old HP. Well sometimes it doesn't go that well. The product might be nice but it doesn't give you any recognizable signs. I have seen it before in distillery ranges with various ages, that there always an age appears wich isn't so good. HP will stay on the 12, 18 and 25Y old and occasionally a nice vintage.
