PC6 vs PC7

soz if this has been discussed, please point me to where if it has.

I'm currently drinking Port Charlotte 6 and 7 concurrently and they are surprisingly different. To me the 6 tastes more of barley and the 7 of peat, but the nose is more rounded on the 6. Not one to write tasting notes, but I'd appreciate anyones feedback so I can see if I can pick up any suggested features.

I'm not sure there has been much discussion of the PC7. There has been for the PC5 and PC6. One thing for you to do is look up what, if any, finishing has been done to both.

I've got a PC6 opened now and won't be able to compare it with a PC7 till my shipment of it comes early next week.

From what i've read the PC6 is ex-bourbon matured then ACEd in Madeira whereas the PC7 is a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry matured whisky.

thats interesting, I'd assumed they were produced by a similar mix and were just different by age. I like doing pairwise tests, the ardbeg range got me into into it. Personally, I prefer pc7 to 6, only had a dram of the 5 on islay so cant really compare it, but remember it being very nice.

I'd love to do a comparison too but no one has PC7 in Oz . I do have PC6, Infinity and 3D3 open and it is very interesting to see just how much of the PC's character was evident in both.

I have tasted the PC6 & PC7 side by side, the sherry vatting of the PC7 does it no justice imo.
