G&M Longmorns

[Spirit of Islay]

Anyone got/tasted any of the G&M Longmorns ?
Primarily the 12yo , 25yo , 1970 , 1971 .

Yes I have. The G&M 25 yo which is vey good imho. The price is too.

Sorry, only tried a few 1972 and 1976 from G&M and I was never disappointed. The 25 YO was very good, but not to the level of the 1972s.

I also thought the 25 year old was very good. Here are my brief notes-
n: soft and sweet, very expressive tropical notes, pineapple and passion fruit.
p: similar to the nose with a little more spice.
f: long with subtle mango notes.
This whisky is a real tropical fruit salad, I like it a lot even if it is a little underpowered, but it is excellent value for money ($NZ140).

For £50 the 25yo is looking a future purchase , might even give the 12yo a go as well .

Bought a 1973 / 2007 G&M Cask Longmorn a year and a half ago:

AMAZING colour - one of the most gorgeously coloured whiskies I've ever tried!

Taste - phenomenal. I know that there is a bit of variation in these older Longmorns, but it's probably worth checking out the Malt Maniac's Monitor as many of them are listed on there. I was impressed with this bottle: 34 yo whisky, very affordable, and a super quality dram.
