Re: Karuizawa 1972 No.1 Drinks
I just tried it head to head with last years release of Karuizawa 1971 Cask 6878.
The 1972 Cask 7290 has not as much sherry as 6878 and is a little dryer.
In 7290 I get aromas of light (but unlit) tobacco, tonkabeans, roasted cedar wood and winegums. On the palate there is more spicy wood, tobacco, pignoli, sherry and maybe a hint of leather.
I really like this expression but I like the former edition even a tad better (maybe 92 points for 7290 and 93 for 6878)but this is - I believe - a matter of personal preferences.
