hi,

before christmas we tasted the first whisky from the english whisky company at dominic roskow's norwich tastings. The hype around it was incredible, they sold out by lunchtime at £35 a bottle. Of course its very young, but its matured quickly we all thought it was very promising, my partner was positively effusive. We tasted it at 18 months, and it was ok then but now its a proper drink. They release the peated version in the spring. At 18 months that was very drinkable, so I might actually try to buy a bottle. Might need to queue though, apparently the three year old went for £150 on ebay!

£150 !!!

I was lucky enough to get one of the 349 cases of chapter 5. It worked out about £40 each. Got to taste it when we picked up the bottles from the distilery. I was pleasently supprised how good it was. Very Speyside like Aberlour.
