aberlour a'bunadh batch 28-anyone tried it

just wondering if any have tried batch 28. i'd like some thoughts/ tasting notes on it before purchasing.

I'm not an a'bunadh specialist but I did compare batch 28 to batch 23. I prefered 28. It struck me as better balanced, with aromas of pumpkin-spice and more toffee flavour. I found 23 more oily, resinous. They were quite similar, of course, but both times I compared them 28 won me over.

While I did enjoy my bottle of 28 I don't think I'd buy another a'bunadh after having tried two batches with similar profiles. Don't get me wrong... I thought it was tasty and an interesting whisky but I got too much sulfur and burnt caramel.

Has anyone ever made a mole with sauteed raisins before? Take a saute pan, put in some canola oil just before the smoke point and quickly saute raisins until they caramelize and bulge but do not burn. Take a big whiff of that smell. That's what I get.
