Singleton 12 yr.

Postby Spotman » Wed Feb 17, 2010 11:32 pm

Have any of you fellow Scotch fanciers tried the Singleton 12 year? I've managed to polish off a couple of bottles of it and find it pretty enjoyable. It's a cherried Scotch and is very well balanced with a refreshing clean taste. I had thought Singleton was a blend, but found that they recently started this SMS last fall. The price here in Minnesota is 33.00 a bottle, which is pretty reasonable. If your in the market for a new Scotch, I suggest you give it a try.

Welcome Spotman. :D

I think if you check your bottle you will find out that it is a Glendullan 12. I have polished off the better part of two bottles. There is a European release and an Asian release. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but my memory is that the Euro folk get MacDuff and Asia folk get Ord.

Previously (back in the 1990s), The Singleton had been Auchroisk 10 yo vintage bottlings.

BTW, all are 12 yo.

Nick, I had been wondering why the regional choices for the three. I was hoping that eventually all would become worldwide releases.

I think it is just what they think the people from different areas would like.

And one 'Ord' release is an 18yo...

This stuff is pretty good- I've had a few. Plus, it is really cheap online.
